ANd I thought our great detective was craving for a cookie! It was so strange when I saw him asking so urgently from Natalie if he could have a cookie... and do you know why? The cookie was actually not even cooked yet! Oh, indeed "that's the way the cookie crumbles"... but NOT for our Mr. Monk here! As the cookie's shape just distracts him. Only that.. not to eat but to throw it in the trashcan! Ohhhhh...

Monk Series in Italy is Also a Big Hit
Labels: InternationalI discovered Adrian Monk in a country that does not speak English. In fact, I only heard Monk in the original language in mid 2009 when I tried viewing some of the episodes online. It was in 2008 in Italy where I first viewed Monk and at first, I coul dnot understand the logic of the thing, also attributed to my lack of Italian knowledge. It was more of the actions more than the words that helped me understand what the series was all about. That time, the series was in an afternoon air time, just right after the siesta hours.
Although my first few episodes of Monk was in blurred comprehension, it did not hinder me to continue watching the very interesting method to solve a crime or crimes or mysteries. Now Monk, I also watch Monk here in Netherlands and now it's in original language.
My point is, I seem to see Monk everywhere now. And I am happy for this. I will not miss the very good show of Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk.

Adrian Monk New Look: With Facial Hair!
Labels: Tony Shalhoub, UpdateI can't believe what I am seeing in this video! Tony Shalhoub, the Adrian Monk in my mind, the super allergic to germs and dust and anything that is not symmetric and not in balance, has grown facial hair. Wow! I like his smile as he still looks very innocent, still very Monkish rather than anyone else. but Monk. Maybe this is cause by the fact that 99.9% of the time that I saw this person, he is always the Adrian Monk to me! I love this video as this is a video to cherish: he looks so different yet the same Monkish one!
What do you think everyone? Do you like him in this new look? For me, he looks great in this. He still looks very organized, even the facial hair is arranged in a very symmetrical fashion.

Adrian Monk Withe The Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Role
Labels: Acting, RoleSee how Tony explained how he did the role of a person with OCD. If you see the youtube page, you would be able to read various reactions to this video. Some claim that he is very alike to persons with OCD that some of the respondents know while there's one respondent telling that he's got OCD but not acting like Adrian Monk at all. Isn't that an interesting thing? I bet it was a whole lot of challenge to succeed to his level. Believe it or not, when I see Monk's face, I think of cleanliness, symmetry and perfection. His character hits the subconscious taking the person to believe that Tony is Monk... It's a very strong character.
For me, it's not the thing that he's got OCD but Monk is just lovable! I bet you agree, right?.

Monk's First Theme Song: "Monk Main Title Theme"
Labels: Theme, VideoIf you still ache for the last, original, the very first theme song in Monk, you better check this video out. It looks so real with the close up playing of the guitar. There are a lot of mixed reactions as to the changing of the theme but for me, whether it's the first (this one) or the the second theme, which is entitled, "It's a Jungle Outthere", they both suit the series. Why is that? And how about you? Maybe your preference over the original theme is stronger over the second theme, or vice versa? What do you say?
Why do I like the first theme? Here are the reasons:
